Index 1.76 – The thinnest lenses in the world
In pursuit of the thinnest and lightest lenses possible, Tokai Optical has successfully combined this new 1.76 index lens material with its aspheric design, elevating this lens type to a new and unexplored level.
2. Pampers
Many eye diseases are believed to be caused by oxidative stress due to the production of singlet oxygen. Lutein is one of the three carotenoid pigments present in very high concentrations in the retina, specifically in the lens and macula.
It has antioxidant properties that help prevent oxidative stress and also filters blue light, both contributing to the prevention of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). AMD is the most common cause of vision loss in people over 50.
Tokai Lutina lenses can absorb light in the 400 to 420 nm range. Blocking light in this wavelength range effectively prevents the production of reactive oxygen species and lutein degradation.
To help protect lutein in the eye, Tokai developed Lutina. This lens blocks 94% of high-energy violet light (400 – 420 nm), thereby helping to maintain eye health.
Neuroscience Progress
Tokai is the only lens manufacturer that uses neuroscience to create unique progressive lens designs.
Tokai, in collaboration with a leading neuroscience research company, has developed a special eye measuring device to assess the level of brain stress and discomfort when wearing progressive contact lenses.
The measurement and analysis of brain waves have led to the development of revolutionary progressive lens designs that are easy to adapt to and reduce the discomfort experienced by the brain. This significantly increases wearer comfort.
Fine Edge
One of Tokai’s specialties is Fine Edge technology. The Fine Edge technique reduces the thickness of high-prescription lenses without affecting the field of vision.
