Blue light filtering lenses
Ease visual load from long screen sessions — pick the right coatings and index; eye tests, advice, and finishing in store.
Screens & LED
Phones, laptops, and LEDs emit a lot of blue–violet light; long near work can cause fatigue and dryness.
Coatings & index
Same brand name can mean different stacks and indices — compare prices using the exact SKU, coating, and power.
In-store fitting
Blue filters don’t change sphere/cyl; you still need PD and index choice for thin edges and comfort.
What is blue-light filtering?
Most “blue filter” lenses aim to reduce blue–violet exposure in the visible range from screens and LEDs while staying clear enough for work. Strength and hue vary by SKU — read the product name and coating when comparing prices.

Indoors & screens
Prioritize comfort for desk work and online study — choose a subtle tint or near-clear stack per brand. Pair with the 20-20-20 rule and sensible screen brightness.
Outdoors & UV
Many lenses add UV protection; sunglasses or photochromics help in sun. Ask for the exact SKU so screen filters aren’t confused with sun lenses.
Why consider blue-light lenses?
- May reduce glare and fatigue during long computer or online-class sessions — depends on your eyes and the filter strength.
- Can stack with anti-scratch or hydrophobic coatings — ask for the exact model when comparing shops.
- Many SKUs work indoors and out; photochromics and strong/soft blue filters differ by catalogue.
- Packaging, branding, and on-site edging help you verify authenticity when needed.
Blue filters don’t replace breaks or an exam if symptoms persist. Choose SKUs after testing and advice.
Who are they for?
Great if you stare at screens for hours or want mild glare relief — we’ll suggest specific SKUs for your Rx and habits.
- Office workers, designers, developers — long uninterrupted screen time.
- Students learning online or on tablets daily.
- People sensitive to bright light or who drive at night (some stacks add anti-glare options).
- Anyone in prescription glasses who wants extra protection without changing power.
