Prescription tinted lenses

Functional lenses

Prescription tinted lenses

Powered lenses with a fixed tint — glare control, sharp vision, great for driving and outdoor life. Unlike photochromics, the shade stays as designed.

Fixed color

Stable density — not UV-dependent like photochromics.

Matched to your Rx

Tinted after surfacing — works with SV, progressive, and astigmatism designs.

Many shades

Grey, brown, green, gradients… for driving, sport, or style.

What are prescription tints?

These are corrective lenses with a stable dyed tint — like prescription sunglasses, but hue and density are chosen for your needs. Ideal for daytime driving, outdoor work, or personal style instead of UV-triggered darkening.

Prescription tint

Controlled dye bath; gradients, dual tones, or densities per your order.

Photochromic

Light-adaptive lenses

Material changes under UV — clear indoors, darker outside. A different choice; not a full substitute when you need always-on tint.

How we tint lenses

Lenses are tinted after power surfacing in a temperature-controlled line. Dwell time and chemistry set color and density; each pair is checked for left–right match.

In-store surfacing and tinting
  1. 01

    Mix dye

Dyes are weighed to formula and dissolved in a temperature-controlled tank.

  2. 02

    Soak lenses

Semi-finished lenses soak for a set time to reach target color and density.

  3. 03

    Gradients & specials

Gradients, dual tones, or custom fades when designed.

  4. 04

    Rinse — coat — QC

Rinsed, hard-coated if needed, and checked under daylight before handoff.

Who should consider tints?

If sun glare bothers you but you want one Rx pair, fixed tint is worth discussing — we’ll advise density for traffic rules and your habits.

  • People in prescription glasses who drive or spend time in sun.
  • Anyone who wants glare relief without separate plano sunglasses or contacts.
  • Outdoor sports, beach trips, long drives — stable tint layers.
  • Style-led tint choices matched to frames or dress codes.
